City Council Member Chad West will serve a third term as District 1 representative with 52% of votes. Elections for mayor, City Council seats and DISD board positions took place on May 6th, with a District 1 low voter turn-out of 4,091 votes cast. 8.8% of City-wide registered voters participated in the May 6th election cycle. Even with declining voter participation, West is relishing his win and is optimistic of future plans for the district.
“This is a win for every block, every neighborhood, and every family in Oak Cliff. Together, we will continue our work to preserve what makes Oak Cliff the best community in Dallas while planning for our shared future,” West said at an election night watch party.
