It’s time for the annual Bastille on Bishop festival, celebrating Oak Cliff’s unique French roots (a brief history below). So, dust off that stylish beret and join revelers in the heart of Bishop Arts District on July 14th from 5-10pm. The festival is free, and your only expense is what you eat & drink. If you want a leaded beverage, you can buy an event glass and tokens that can be redeemed for either drinks or food. Kid-friendly and pet-friendly.

Bastille Day is a French National Holiday that celebrates the storming of the Bastille military fortress and prison on July 14, 1789, in an uprising that helped usher in the French Revolution. Did you know that this area was founded by a group of French settlers that sought to establish a utopian arts & literature colony called “La Reunion.” The settlement was short lived due to the lack of farming skills, and way too much Folle Blanche on the job!
