Icy Summer Treat

I found this EASY Kraft snow cone recipe on-line and wanted to share it with neighbors. The syrup is made of 3 ingredients and crushed ice done in a blender. Prep time takes 5 minutes and the recipe makes 16 servings (½ cup each). Try garnishing your snow cones with a touch of real fruit, a squeeze of lime for tartness, and an umbrella. Adults may want to add a little extra something!

Recipe/Ingredients:

  • 1 envelope KOOL-AID Unsweetened Drink Mix, any flavor
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 qt. (8 cups) crushed ice or desired amount of servings (based on 1/2 cup each)

Directions

Place drink mix and sugar in small plastic or glass bowl. Add water. Stir until drink mix and sugar are dissolved. Crush ice in a blender to desired consistency. Scoop out ½ cup of crushed ice per serving into drink containers, using an ice cream scooper if handy. Pour 2 tablespoons of syrup over ice. Garnish and enjoy! Refrigerate any unused syrup mixture for later use.
