The City Council recently approved the spending of $298,962 to restore the Kessler steps passageway that connects Edgefield Avenue to Canterbury Court, originally built in 1927. Construction begins this month, thanks to our many good neighbors who stepped up and raised $71,000!

After months of planning alongside the Parks and Recreation Department, The KNU Beautification Committee is pleased to bring you this news. Prior to construction, sanitary sewer and water lines that run underground will be replaced. The steps will be reconstructed with concrete and limestone retaining walls on portions of the path. Construction is scheduled to be completed in late January of 2018, weather permitting.

KNU would like to thank all neighbors who donated funds and energies to this project, as this has been a monumental & historic achievement. Additionally, we would like to thank our volunteer beautification committee members Charles Hatfield, Susie Moody, Cindy Pierce and Ron Veech for their time and devotion.
