KNU Annual Board Meeting & Officer Election on Nov 18

The Kessler Neighbors United Annual Meeting & Officer Election will be held on November 18th, at 7pm at Kessler Park United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. All neighbors are encouraged to attend. The slate of candidates and their qualifications resulting from the nomination process will be provided to residents in the November newsletter prior to the election. Reference the By-Laws for other qualifying criteria.

Listed below are the KNU board positions and primary responsibilities:

President – The Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. Presides over meetings of the board and fulfills the duties outlined in the By-Laws. A minimum of one (1) year service on the Board as either an Officer or Chair of a Standing Committee is required.

Vice-President – The VP performs the duties of the President upon their absence and is responsible for directing fund-raising initiatives.

Secretary – The Secretary keeps the minutes of all meetings and is charged with the Corporation’s records.

Treasurer – The Treasurer is custodian of the Corporation’s funds, manages all payables and receivables, keeps the Board up to date on all financial matters, and assists the Corporation’s CPA in filing an annual 501(c)(3) tax return with the Internal Revenue Service.

KNU is your non-profit neighborhood association that facilitates day-to-day operations, grounds maintenance & enhancements, safety improvements, co-operative programs with the City of Dallas and local organizations, advocacy, and community enrichment. We are governed by By-Laws, powered by a non-paid Board and selfless volunteers, and funded by elective dues and contributions by participating residents and valued supporters. Read more…
