KNU monthly meeting format to add OPEN MIC, and more neighborhood news…

Beginning this month on June 27th, KNU’s regularly scheduled monthly Board meeting format will include an OPEN MIC time slot at 6pm for neighbors to share what’s on their mind, ask questions, comment, or present ideas relating to Kessler Park and greater Oak Cliff. Please join us on the 4th Monday of each month from 6-6:30pm at KPUMC Fellowship Room II. At 6:30pm, the open mic session will conclude, and the Board will move on to its executive agenda.

All are welcome. We ask attendees to present their comments, ideas, and any concerns in a concise, respectful, and constructive manner, and to be mindful of their time at the mic so that all voices can be heard.

KNU is the neighborhood association for Kessler Park and advocates on behalf of resident-members.

Other neighborhood news…

We want to thank Taylor, Steve, Robbie, Kelli, John, and Cindy for beautifying the green spaces on May 14th at Montclair/Kensington, Montclair/Argonne, Nob Hill, Kessler Steps fountain area, and Belleau/Windomere. A green thumbs up!

KNU board members and neighbors have been working on a landscaping re-design for the Island at Evergreen and Knott. This collaborative effort alongside the City’s arborist, shaped the landscape re-design which incorporates native and drought tolerant plantings and a Desert Willow tree at the island’s center. A 3-day event yielded island tilling, the removal of turf and weeds, and the addition of new soil, compost, plants, and a signature tree. Gloves off to Clayce, Geoff, Molly, Ben, Olive, Doss, Booth, Celina, John and Enzo for project start to finish!  Thanks to the City of Dallas MOWmentum team Jon, Deandrea and Kristoffer who assisted us in this process. And a special shoutout to Clayce and Geoff for watering duty as new plants get established.

Caution! Workman and heavy equipment on Argonne Dr @ Montclaire Ave. Construction activity continues through summer months. Expect some delays and closures.
