City of Dallas Police Officers from the Southwest Patrol Division (Oak Cliff) met with our neighborhood in October to share current crime statistics & safety tips. It was an eye-opening opportunity for residents to discuss safety concerns and build a relationship with DPD officers that work hard and risk all daily to keep us safe! We want to thank the DPD and those folks that attended the meeting. We will let you know when our next crime prevention meeting is scheduled.
Here are a few tips:
- The holidays are here and that means packages are being delivered to doors and “porch pirates” are on the rise (felony charges apply). Designate a place where packages can be left and hidden from street view, ask a neighbor to retrieve deliveries from your door if not at home, and extend that same courtesy to the folks next door!
- Denote serial numbers of valuables like iPhone, iPads, laptops, lawn equipment, etcetera for safe keeping. If any of these items are stolen, the Police can use the this information to try to locate them at local Pawn shops.
- The most reported crimes in our area are stolen tools and lawn equipment. Remember to keep your garage, car and tool beds always locked.
- Report suspicious activity immediately.
These same DPD officers when off-duty, are on-duty with NOCUPP! Join NOCUPP for crime watch & intervention and help blanket our neighborhood with added security!
