Muled Mead

Pizza and beer!?! How bout a heart-shaped pizza and a Mead Mule! This spin on a Moscow Mule takes its ancient notes from the process of creating an alcoholic beverage by fermenting honey with water. Part beer, part wine or maybe just its own gig, dry mead and ginger will rock your pizza. Look for dry mead at your local packaging store. Good news for novices, you don’t have to concoct the mead. On a side note, age-old mead was made with fruits, spices, grains or hops, and the finished product was still, carbonated, or naturally sparkling (dry, semi-sweet, or sweet).

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces dry mead
  • 3 ounces ginger beer or ginger ale
  • ½ ounce ginger juice
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • Garnish with mint

Instructions:

  • Place 4 ice cubes in a rocks glass. Add the mead, ginger beer, ginger juice and bitters.
  • Finish with a lemon twist.
