When autumn leaves start to fall… The City spends approximately 1 million on leaves, sediment and debris removal from storm drain inlets. Sweep and bag your leaves and grass clippings or use a leaf vacuum to collect yard waste BEFORE it ends up in the street! Yard waste can plug storm drains, cause flooding and cost a homeowner up to $2,000 in fines! Learn more. Homeowners are also responsible for the actions of their yard maintenance & landscape crews. Good to know. On a seasonal note, check out Eva Cassidy’s rendition of “Autumn Leaves.” You might consider composting.
